Ashok Vatika Public School, Amritsar celebrated ‘Mother’s Day’with fervour and enthusiasm in the school's precinct to salute all the mothers, their importance in a child's life and the nation as well. 
Mothers were specially invited to spend a memorable day filled with activities and fun. Several games were played. Flame-less cooking competition was also organised. Ramp walk by mothers and musical chair stole the show.The students expressed their love and affection for their mothers through various activities like a beautiful dance, vocal song and choreography by the students. 
The venue was aptly decorated in keeping with the theme. Attractive boards displaying the creativity of children were also displayed. Mother's accompanied their child for giving hand impressions as a gesture of gratitude.The day ended with all mothers and children, enjoying themselves and taking back fond memories of a day well spent.

The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. He demonstrated and talked about various important concepts  in a very efficient and gripping manner. The workshop was quite interactive with complete involvement of teachers. Yellow Day celebration

  Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and  observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower  picture in yellow.
