Basant Panchami celebrations

The school celebrated Basant Panchmi with great festive fervour. The lovely students decked up in yellow apparels recited beautiful poems and verses to celebrate the beginning of spring season. The girls presented a beautiful dance performance dedicated to goddess Saraswati. The importance of the day in the context of culture and traditions was highlighted . The pupils were forbidden to use Chinese string for kite flying citing it's adverse consequences.

Workshop for Mathematics Teachers by Dr. Jaswinder Singh

Ashok Vatika Public School organized a very engaging and rewarding 'workshop for Mathematics Teachers. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. He demonstrated and talked about various important concepts in a very efficient and gripping manner. The workshop was quite interactive with complete involvement of teachers. Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
