Lohri Celebrations

Ashok Vatika Public School wishes "Happy lohri to all".

The festival of lohri was celebrated by Ashok Vatika Public School. This harvest festival commemorates the passing of winter solstice and is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm, especially in North India. The pupils, all decked up in beautiful traditional apparels put forth spectacular performances related to our folklore. The teachers acquainted the students with the cultural background of the festival and also they were told about the importance of lighting the bonfire.The assembly concluded with the singing of the folk song related to the festival.

Workshop for Mathematics Teachers by Dr. Jaswinder Singh

Ashok Vatika Public School organized a very engaging and rewarding 'workshop for Mathematics Teachers. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. He demonstrated and talked about various important concepts in a very efficient and gripping manner. The workshop was quite interactive with complete involvement of teachers. The eminent personality gave many revolutionary and zestful ideas to thwart away the phobias and fears of students associated with the subject . Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow. The students enjoyed fully and got elaborated knowledge about the colour Yellow. #yellowday #sunnyday #colour #colourful
