"Seminar on Cyber Safety"

An awareness seminar on the cyber safety was conducted for teachers in the campus of Ashoka Vatika Public School. The commissionerate of Amritsar organized it for the purpose of making our citizens and younger generation aware about protecting themselves from digital frauds and online crimes. Inspector Robin Hans from the commissioner office, with his team of cyber experts, was warmly welcomed by the principal Mrs. Anchal Mahajan and the vice principal Mr. Vipul Malhotra. He informed the teachers about the varied helplines available for the convenience of citizens like 112 in emergency ,181 for women's safety and 1930 for reporting cyber crimes. He threw light on the latest methods of online hacking of devices and the ways to tackle the digital crimes. He also convinced the audience to use authenticated sites to make themselves aware about their surroundings.

Workshop for Mathematics Teachers by Dr. Jaswinder Singh

Ashok Vatika Public School organized a very engaging and rewarding 'workshop for Mathematics Teachers. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
