Ashok Vatika Public School celebrated republic day with great fervor and enthusiasm today. While celebrating this day, various activities like speech, ramp walk and recitation etc. were organized to mark the national festival. A speech was delivered on the importance of republic day . The day is special for us as on this day, 26 January 1950, our constitution was implemented. The students of grade 3 presented the greetings culture of different Indian states through a ramp walk to highlight the cultural diversity of India. The students also recited the preamble of Indian constitution and they were told about that the preamble is a spirit of Indian constitution. The preamble means an introduction to the Indian constitution which secures justice, liberty and equality to all the citizens of India and promotes the fraternity among all the citizens. They were also apprised of the making of the constitution. Beside this, the principal, Mrs. Anchal Mahajan, and the faculty members of the school, unfurled the national flag. She wished the greetings of Republic day to all in her speech and also motion the students to be responsible and respectful towards their nation and duties.

The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. He demonstrated and talked about various important concepts in a very efficient and gripping manner. The workshop was quite interactive with complete involvement of teachers. The eminent personality gave many revolutionary and zestful ideas to thwart away the phobias and fears of students associated with the subject . Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
