World Heritage Day

World Heritage day was observed in the school today to mark the importance of our heritage and to aware the students about preserving our monuments and cultural sites. The students of grade 6 were taken to Sarai Amanat Khan in Amritsar to witness its history. They also held a special assembly to share their experiences of their visit. The students also briefed about the significance of ‘World Heritage day’. The pictures of world famous heritage places were also displayed for the knowledge of students and they were also shown a PowerPoint presentation on this occasion. The principal, Mrs Anchal Mahajan, motivated the children to visit different places of cultural importance and the nearby places of historical importance to learn the history of these sites. She stressed the fact that the awareness of our history makes us proud of our heritage and culture.

Ashok Vatika Public School organized a very engaging and rewarding 'workshop for Mathematics Teachers. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
