An educational excursion to ITBP camp.

An educational excursion was organised for students of grade 9 and 10. The students visited ‘Fateh 52’ a battalion of ITBP in Amritsar and experienced the practical way of learning by visiting the camp of the troops. They were given the knowledge of the functioning of various weapons. The students were quite curious to get the knowledge beyond their class curriculum. Under the able guidance of principal, Mrs. Anchal Mahajan, Ashok Vatika Public School and Commander officer, Mr. Romesh Bhatia, ITBP, students got the opportunity to know about the different army weapons like rifles, pistols and other weapons and their parts and how they are operated. The staff members and students were warmly welcomed by the unit and were also offered refreshment. The students realized the importance of defense services and observed the working of soldiers and their discipline in the life. Such educational excursions prove to be quite helpful to students and guides them to set higher aims in their life.

Ashok Vatika Public School organized a very engaging and rewarding 'workshop for Mathematics Teachers. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
