The festival of lights, Diwali, was celebrated in the campus of Ashok Vatika Public School with cheerful festive fervor . The day began with a special assembly marked for the occasion, where students of grade 5 chanted ‘Shabad’ followed by a drama about the victory of goodness over evil. The students of grade 10 and 11 performed a mesmerizing dance performance also. Highlighting the excitement of enjoying Diwali with their friends and teachers, the students presented their skills in decoration. They decorated their classrooms with great pomp and show. Several other competitions were also organised for the students. The students of grade 1st and 2nd enthusiastically took part in the Candle decoration competition. The Diya decoration, greeting card and Matki decoration competition was for grade 3, 4 & 5 respectively that helped them to reveal their creativity. The students from grade 9 to 12 took part in the Rangoli making competition where they presented their creativity and presentation skills through the use of colours, flowers and other decorative material. The principal, Mrs. Anchal Mahajan, joined the students and the staff in celebrating the happiness of Diwali with the gifts of diwali. She encouraged the young learners to celebrate the festival in an eco- friendly way and gave them a message of celebrating such occasions with brotherhood and by doing good deeds.
