 A seminar on traffic awareness and domestic violence was organized in the premises of Ashok Vatika Public School . The seminar was conducted by the Commissionerate of Police, Amritsar. The Principal, Mrs Anchal Mahajan, welcomed the main speakers, Sub- inspector – Mr. Daljit Singh (Traffic Rules) who came to aware the young learners about the rules and regulations related to traffic. The other speakers on the occasion were ASI Jaswant Singh , ASI Kuldeep Singh, and SI Navdeep Singh, Incharge of Saanj Kendra police station. The purpose of the seminar was to aware the teenage riders regarding the rules of underage driving. The students were apprised of different rules and regulations of driving and the police team also told them about the consequences of over speed driving and warn them about the dangers of violation of traffic rules. They discussed in detail about the reasons behind the accidents and the violation of the rule of underage driving which can result in strict imprisonment for three years with fine of Rs.25000. The students were also informed about different cyber crimes and the ways to protect oneself from such crimes. They discussed that in case of help, students just need to call the police on helpline numbers like to dial 1091 for women helpline, 1098 for child helpline, 1930 for cyber crime helpline and 112 for seeking help in case of domestic violence. On this occasion, another dignitary was advocate Mrs. Harsharan Kaur, who informed the students about the assistance available in case of cyber crime and the laws against domestic violence. She informed them about the various protective measures to remain safe while using social media. She also talked about the laws for the safety of women and against domestic violence. Yellow Day celebration

  Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and  observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower  picture in yellow.
