Ashok Vatika Public School observed Puneet Sagar and Amrit Sarovar Mission.

The NCC students of Ashok vatika Public School took part in the initiative of Puneet Sagar and Amrit Sarovar Mission of Government of India. The students took the initiative to clean the New Amritsar canal, a significant water resource under the instructions of Commanding Officer, D.K. Upadhaya, 11 Punjab NCC Battalion. This mission was organized with the encouragement of the principal, Mrs. Anchal Mahajan. The students were informed about the uses and benefits of traditional water resources by the Lieutenant Engineer Ravi Kumar. They were also told about the importance of water and the need of preserving resources of water.The twenty students cleaned the area near the river and parks around the river. They removed the weeds, overgrown grass and garbage etc. They cleaned the area close to the riverside also.They also formed a human chain to create awareness regarding preserving water for saving the precious human life. Their efforts will definitely aware the people about the importance of water.

The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is quite well known for popularizing science and Mathematics among students and teachers through various ingenious and novel ways. He is the recipient of awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more. Dr. Jaswinder Singh gave an insight on the basic concepts of Mathematics in a very creative and brilliant manner. He demonstrated and talked about various important concepts in a very efficient and gripping manner. The workshop was quite interactive with complete involvement of teachers. Yellow Day celebration

Yellow Day celebration was a full fun day for the Nursery students. The colour yellow which represents happiness , warmth and sun shine was celebrated in a play way letting the students experience yellow colour thoroughly. They had a nature walk and identified yellow colour in natural things ,a display of yellow coloured things ,fruits and vegetables was organized in the classroom and each student got the opportunity to touch and observe them thoroughly. A lemonade drink was prepared and served to all . Children were taught about the importance of the colour. A colouring activity was also done where students coloured sunflower picture in yellow.
