Ashok Vatika Public School, Amritsar, organised a Special Assembly to commemorate the martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs. The assembly was administered by the students of Grade 8, who presented an inspiring and meaningful tribute to the Guru’s supreme sacrifice for humanity. The day began with a morning audio session for all classes, where students listened to a detailed life sketch of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. After the session, students were asked questions related to the audio, helping them understand and connect deeply with Guru Ji’s teachings and contributions.
The assembly commenced with a devotional prayer, followed by a powerful speech by the students highlighting Guru Ji’s principles of fearlessness, compassion, and protection of human rights. A melodious shabad recitation and a self-composed poem by the students added a devotional atmosphere to the event. Grade 8 students also presented a short depiction of important moments from Guru Ji’s life and martyrdom. The Principal , Mrs. Anchal Mahajan, in her address praised the efforts of the students and teachers. She said that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s life teaches us to stand up for truth and justice without fear. She encouraged the students to follow his ideals of tolerance, empathy, and moral courage in their daily lives. The event concluded with the message that the real tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji lies in adopting his values and living a life of integrity, kindness, and service to others.
