23rd April is a significant date for ''World Book Day'' . It’s a day to celebrate the joy of Reading and learning from the known to the unknown in the wide field of language and literature. Ashok Vatika Public School welcomed the UNESCO concept and the students here put their heads and hands together to appreciate reading and reaching out to the world through this practice. The main aim of organizing  World Book Day is to basically encourage children to explore the pleasures of Bed time  stories, Inspiring Science fictions, fairy tales and Biographies.  Books are our everlasting friends and liberates our mind, body and soul.

 

 “Let’s not pass the legacy of scorched earth and impoverished landscapes to our future generations.” The earth day was observed in Ashok Vatika Public School. The students enacted a role play to illustrate the significance and exigency of a clean and pure environment in today’s backdrop and setting. The students prepared beautiful posters with meaningful slogans to evoke the worth of a healthy atmosphere. Also the Vatikans were urged to plant one sapling in order to make a meagre contribution towards this global issue. A Special assembly was organized at Ashok Vatika Public School on the occasion of Dr.Ambedar Jayanti . Tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar - the architect of the Indian Constitution.  On Dr.Ambedar jayanti it is important to know his contribution.... * His reputation as a scholar led to his appointment as  India's first law minister, and chairman of committee for drafting the constitution. * Ambedkar's original name was actually Ambavadekar. * Ambedkar ji played a key roll in establishment of Reserve Bank of India in 1935. * The Mahad Satyagraha of 1927 was one of the defining moments in Ambedkar's political thought and action. Held in the small town of Mahad in Maharashtra , this Satyagraha was held three years prior to Gandhi's Dandi  march. While salt was at the  centre  of Gandhi's campaign , drinking water was at the core of Ambedkar crusade.  * Ambedkar ji changed the working hours in India from 14 hours to 8 hour. On the eve of Baisakhi festival, a colourful programme was organized in the premises of Ashok Vatika Public School. Students of various classes participated in the programme and displayed rich cultural heritage related to Baisakhi festival. The significance of khalsa Panth was delineated. Different songs and dances concerned with the theme were performed. Giddha and Bhangra on the drum beats were the main attractions of the day where everyone danced and tapped their feet on the beats of the Punjabi music.  The students of Kindergarten dressed in colourful dresses, presented a great look of the festival.  The tiny toddlers mesmerized the audience with their enchanting swag and performances.   A one-day camp of NCC was organised today at school campus for the enrollment of new cadets in NCC. On this occasion, Commanding Officer Karnail Singh of 11 Punjab Battalion , NCC , Amritsar, also visited the school premises. The principal mam warmly welcomed and honoured CO sir by presenting bouquet of flowers. He and other army officers took a special class of students to encourage them to join NCC and highlighted the benefits and importance of NCC in life and career. The students showed keen interest to take part in this activity.
